A second year civil engineering student emerged as the champion in the annual statistics quiz bee held last October 4, 2019 at AVR2 Mapua Intramuros campus. Mr. Earl John Salamat received P10,000 cash price with medal and certificate. The elimination round was participated by more than 200 freshmen and second year students from both Intramuros and Makati campuses. The top 20 students from the elimination round vied for the top 5 positions who received cash prices and medals in the final round.

The Mathematics Department of the Mapua University recently conducted its 3rd Research Colloquium on April 3, 2019 at Seminar Room. Four undergraduate theses from the Management Science and Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Edgar M. Adina and four graduate theses under the supervision of Dr. Dante L. Silva were presented. The event aims to spur research collaboration among faculty and students in Mathematics, Statistics and related field.

Mapúa University has been shortlisted in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2019’s Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year category. The University is the only higher education institution (HEI) from the Philippines that made it to the list of the said category for its teaching and learning strategies known as Digital Day and Digital Rush.
Dr. Dante L. Silva, professor at Mapúa University’s Department of Mathematics and School of Civil, Environmental, and Geological Engineering, received the Outstanding Asian Educator Award and Best Research Presenter Awards in the Asia Pacific Conference on Interdisciplinary Research held from August 5 to 7 in Macau, China.
The Asian Association for Interdisciplinary Research Inc., the organizer of the conference, recognizes the academic contributions of educators and researchers to enhance knowledge and skills of interdisciplinary research.
